TAMPA, Fla., November 20, 2019 – Despite the cold temperatures on Saturday, November 16, 2019,
Breezin’ Entertainment teamed up with
The Community Food Pantry to put on their third consecutive Turkey Drive which provides frozen turkeys and sides for families in need around Thanksgiving.
Out of the total 500 turkeys donated, Breezin’ Entertainment and The Krewe of the Knights of Sant’ Yago contributed 250 turkeys this year, over 100 more than in 2018. Over 500 families attended The Community Food Pantry’s Turkey Drive to collect frozen turkeys and bags filled with Thanksgiving essentials such as sides, plates, napkins, tablecloths, and supportive notes.
Approximately 95 volunteers attended the
Turkey Drive to help package food, direct traffic, and load food into cars. Through all of their hard work, the Turkey Drive ran smoothly and efficiently leaving all families who attended extremely gracious.
The Community Food Pantry started the Turkey Drive event to give back to the community during the Thanksgiving holiday. Many members of the Tampa Bay community are unable to celebrate Thanksgiving with the traditional turkey dinner due to financial instability. By providing families in the North Tampa and Carrollwood Area with Thanksgiving essentials, The Community Food Pantry is able to help all families celebrate Thanksgiving, no matter their financial situation.
“On behalf of the Breezin’ team, we want to thank everybody that was kind enough to donate to our Turkey Drive, especially The Krewe of the Knights of Sant’ Yago, who contributed 100 turkeys. We are humbled, we are grateful, there are over 500 families out here today and our support with the help of The Krewe of the Knights of Sant’ Yago was 250 turkeys and 10 volunteers this morning!” said Cindy Dervech, the founder of
Breezin’ Entertainment and Productions.
The Breezin’ staff was delighted to participate in an event that benefitted the members of their community. It is important for everyone to feel supported and cared for during the holiday season. By providing those in need with the opportunity to have a turkey dinner with their family and friends during Thanksgiving, it is an easy way to show the members of the community they are cared for. Breezin’ Entertainment wishes everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving as well as a joyful holiday season.
